I love edible gifts, especially for Valentine's Days! Rice Krispie Conversation Hearts are so fun and easy! This is a great project to for the entire family! Below I have the from scratch homemade version, plus a cute way to package them as a gift. I have also included a video that is a slightly different way! I tried to include options for everyone!

- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 package (10 oz., about 40) JET-PUFFED Marshmallow or 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
- Decorating Frosting
- Icing Writer
- P-Touch Embellish or P-touch Embellish ELITE
- P-Touch Embellish 1/2" Pink or White Satin Ribbon Cartridge
- Clear Treat Bags
- Sheet Pan
- Parchment Paper
-
In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
-
Add Rice Krispie cereal and still until evenly coated.
-
Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Spread the mixture evenly on the baking sheet making it about 2" thick.
-
Let cool completely.
-
Once cool, use the heart cookie cutter to punch out hearts.
-
Cover each heart with frosting and write a message on it with the icing writers.
-
Let the hearts sit out so the icing dries.
-
While the icing is drying create personalized packaging for your conversation hearts by using the P-touch Embellish or Embellish Elite. Insert a ribbon cartridge, type and design your message, and print.
-
Once the treats are dry place them in individual bags and tie them closed with the personalized ribbon.
The videos give you tips for creating the treats with pre-made Rice Krispie bars, a rolling pin, heart bunch, white chocolate and food coloring.
To add a personal touch, put it in a treat bag and tie it with personalized ribbon. We made the personalized ribbon on the P-touch Embellish!
Happy Valentine's Day!
